Specterrier
Tragedy strikes when Shadow accidentally becomes entombed while playing fetch. Now it's up to Geist to find four skeleton keys to free his best friend!
Playing with a controller is highly recommended.
About
Made in one week for Scream Jam 2025. All models and all but a few textures and code snippets were made solo by me during the jam. The music and most SFX were licensed from others though I did create a few SFX clips myself as well.
I ran out of time so some sounds are missing and the cutscenes are more abrupt than I'd like but I hope this scratches that N64-aesthetic itch!
How to play
Jump, cut, and explore the graveyard to earn enough skeleton keys to free your friend in this retro 3D platformer. You don't need every key but you do get bragging rights if you find them all.
A controller is highly recommended but keyboard and mouse are supported
- Move - Left stick / WASD
- Camera - Right stick / Mouse
- Jump - A / Space
- Glide - Press and hold the jump button again after jumping
- Attack - X / B / Left-click
- Pause/settings - Start / Tab
Camera sensitivity and inversion can be adjusted at any time from the game's settings menu.
The game automatically saves with every item you collect. You can reset your save file using the button on the main menu.
Known bugs
Camera
Several players have reported the camera becoming too close or getting stuck in overhead view. If this happens to you, try inverting the camera V option and increasing the camera V sensitivity in the menu then moving the right stick/mouse up and down (note: you need to use the mouse to change the sensitivity setting, see next bug). If that fixes it, you should be able to put the settings back to what you prefer.
If that doesn't work, try reloading the game. All progress is auto-saved and the intro cutscene will be skipped if you have collected at least one key so you won't lose any progress.
Sorry for the inconvenience and I'll try to get a patch out post-jam!
Settings sliders
The music, SFX, and sensitivity sliders only work if changed using a mouse. Setting them with a controller will have no effect.
Please try the Windows version if you're having performance issues with the web build.

Very cool. I like all the puzzles. I think the camera was at a bad angle at times and it felt like i couldn't look at what I wanted to. But I still think it was very good.
Thanks for playing! Out of curiosity, were you playing with keyboard and mouse or controller? I have the camera coded to behave a bit differently between the two so I'm wondering which needs improvement.
